IBM CODE GLOBAL CHALLENGE 2021 FOR DEVELOPERS WORLDWIDE
APPLICATION DEADLINE: 31ST JULY 2021
IBM supported by the Human Rights Office and the American Red Cross International team invites application for the Code Global Challenge 2021.
This call is opened for persons who can create practical, effective, and high-quality application based on cloud, data, and artificial intelligence that can have immediate and lasting impacts on humanitarian issues.
The most successful solutions are those scoped to have the greatest community impact with the smallest technological imprints.
This year’s competition will have two tracks. First track will be for solutions that help halts and reverse the impact of climatic change, while the second track is for solution to mitigate the impact of global pandemics like COVID-19 on communities all over the world.
Winning solutions will then be deployed to communities that needs help the most.

Global Challenge
- All winners will receive an invite to the call for Code Award Announcement and Support from Linux Foundation.
- VC introduction and pitch opportunity
- Offer to deploy the solution with IBM Corporate Service Corps
Grand prize winner- $200, 000 USD
Dispersed equally among the team and solution deployment support
First and second runner-up:
- $25,000 USD cash prize
- Invitation to the Call for Code Global Prize Event
REQUIREMENT
Open to groups of developers to create solutions that significantly improves preparedness for natural disasters and relief when they hit.
To be eligible for the call for code global award, developer will be required to use IBM Cloud services in their solutions.
RULES
- All submission must be deployed and run on the IBM Cloud
- All submission must make use of at least 5 IBM Cloud services. Use of sponsor or affiliate APIs is also encouraged.
- Teams of up to 5 participants are allowed. All team members must have completed the Participation Agreement to compete.
- A participant may not be part of multiple teams
- Teams have full ownership of everything they build and are free to do with it as they wish weather they win or not.
- Winning team will be subject to code review after submissions close on Aug 31.
- Overall right of first refusal to invest in projects will be outlined in Participant Agreement.
