Well Mountain Initiative (WMI) Scholars Programme is on again for the year 2021 applications. This scholarship opportunity is targeted at students from developing countries who will be enrolling for bachelor‘s degree or diploma programme for the first time.

Eligibility criteria for the The following are expected from the selected applicants:

  • Be an ambassador community service and engagement .
  • Maintain good grades in all university studies.
  • Perform record and document 100 hours of community service activities throughout the year.
  • Complete the Academic Semester Report and Community Service Report for WMI Scholars.
  • Send official semester transcripts twice a year.
  • Communicate openly with the Student Scholar Coordinator regarding your situation as a student.
  • Communicate openly with the student Scholar Coordinator regarding your situation as a student.

Worth of the 2021 Scholarship for Developing Countries by Well Mountain Initiative

The minimum is $300 USD annually while the maximum amount is $3,000 USD.

However, the average amount most obtainable is $1,500 USD.

Areas covered by the scholarship includes: tuition fees, books and materials and other related expenses.

Qualifying criteria:

For a candidate to be qualified, he/she should :

  • Be a citizen from a developing country.
  • Have completed secondary education with very good grades.
  • Not be older than 35 years by March 1, 2021.
  • Be ready to study in any developing countries including his/her place of nationality.
  • Be enrolling for the programme as his/her first certificate in bachelor’s degree or diploma.
  • Put in for a programme of study that will advance the growth and development of his/her native country.
  • Get prepared to live and work after graduation within his/her native country.
  • Have exemplified at any previous occasion the quality of giving back and self volunteering for societal projects.
  • Be seen in a financial situation whereby the funds he/she has for education will not be adequate to pursue a tertiary degree without assistance.

A complete application will include the following:

  • 2021 application form.
  • Clear personal photo.
  • Essay (see topic on the application form)
  • Two recommendation letters.
  • Official transcript of grades from secondary school.
  • Grading key to interpret secondary school grades.
  • Transcript of grades from tertiary studies (if applicable)
  • Official grading key to interpret tertiary grades
  • Official results from your national examination.
  • Personal essay statement.
