Scholarships in Cyprus.

Scholarships in Cyprus are not limited to local students alone. 

The government also fund international students who have displayed an excellent and outstanding academic performance.

Government scholarships is said to cover up to 20% of your fees. There are some other institutions that provide bursaries for international postgraduate up to about €2, 400 per year.

Other universities subsidize foreign postgraduate students through assistantships. This includes helping with either teaching, grading or lab supervision.

How to apply to study in Cyprus

Each school has its own different admission requirements.

You will need to make contact with the university’s admissions office to make more research on useful information regarding your admission.

Applications are usually made directly to the institution through post and there are other forms that are downloadable on their online platform.

Also, there are some programs which will require you to attend an entrance exam or a pre entry interview.  There is fee for application and can apply one year in advance.

Other things will be required during your application process such as your birth certificate, present passport, academic certificate and other references.

Documents will be required in English. You must also proof that you can support yourself financially and pay tuition fees up front.

 Language requirements to study in cyprus

Most of the private and public universities teach basically in English language.

Just like every other University, you may need to provide an evidence of English proficiency before you are enrolled.  

Students who are not able to meet up with the adequate English language skill might be granted duration of one month free intensive learning.

You can also learn the Greek language and have a good knowledge of it to your advantage.

Procesing Cyprus Student Visa.

As a foreign student who is not from any EU countries you will need to acquire a student permit, and also get your visa.

As soon as you arrive in Cyprus, you are to submit the following documents to the admission office of your chosen institution:

  • A completed application form
  • An application fee
  • A four passport photographs
  • Copies of your academic certificates
  • Evidence of your proficiency in English

International students must get a visa to study in Cyprus.

You will apply for it at your country’s Cypriot embassy in the period of three month before your course commence.
